Mary · Maggy · Marta
Crossover classical trio from Nairobi, Kenya — blending Broadway, jazz, gospel, and the songs of home.

Mary, Maggy and Marta Moipei are identical triplets from Nairobi, Kenya and currently reside in the U.S. They present a program that is as unique as their talents. They interpret some well-known selections from the American Songbook and dazzle with their illuminating take on Broadway, new and old. Throw in a dash of Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman to swing, a flash of pop to provoke, then cash it all in with some gospel for salvation. Add a traditional Swahili folk song to bring it all back home. The exceptional talents of these three sisters blend these music genres to create an amazing, fulfilling and entertaining evening. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Appointed as UNICEF ambassadors at age twelve, touring internationally they championed girl child empowerment, education, and alternative rites of passage. They were recognized by Kenya's President for their contribution to the Music Industry and the Nation. "They have become as iconic as Kenya's sportsmen and women but for a different kind of muscle... their vocal cords." — Nation TV Kenya.
Their album In the Land of the Lion won the 2011 Best of Africa category at the prestigious South Africa Broadcasting Corporation Awards (SABC). Moipei made their NYC debut at the 2021 Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where they were presented with the Julie Wilson Award for their "impact on the entertainment industry," and returned to perform at the convention annually.
MOIPEI made their Kennedy Center debut performing in the RiverRun Festival 2023, followed by a performance at the Kennedy Center for the U.S. State Department's symposium for international gender equality. MOIPEI is also known for their critically acclaimed performances at 54 Below (Broadway's Supper Club) and the internationally renowned Birdland Jazz Club.
The last two years they performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra amassing 59 performances in their Yuletide Celebration. MOIPEI performed the National Anthem at a Spurs Playoff game. The sisters completed successful tours of South Korea and Ontario, Canada. They have performed with several opera companies and symphony orchestras worldwide. The sisters continue to build on their remarkable journey, with exciting new chapters ahead.
"Beautiful, harmonious voices that brought me to tears, their vocal blend is like I have never heard before."
"Their enchantment, either as singers or as people, will bewitch all who see and hear them."

Read Full Review"Nothing can prepare your ears for the remarkable harmonies, vocal dexterity, creativity, and sophisticated persona of the sisters Mary, Maggy and Marta MOIPEI… I would dare say that even the best of them would have a hard time isolating the silvery notes in the harmonies created by MOIPEI, which blend so seamlessly and create some of the most melodious sounds imaginable. MOIPEI are exceptional on every level."
"Their voices are stunning, opera-worthy sopranos all, and as they take in everything from pop and soul to gospel, jazz, and show tunes, they blend together so sonorously that often it's hard to tell who, if anyone, is singing lead."
